Customer Service Expeditor

 

Overview

World class manufacturer serving a diverse customer base in North America and around the world needs a talented Customer Service Expeditor to focus on improving on-time deliveries with careful and deliberate tracking of orders. You will regularly interface with customers, the sales and production departments and outside vendors to best communicate job requirements to meet scheduled ship dates. Reporting to the Controller, this role is very visible where you can make a difference in the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expedite orders on a daily basis to ensure on time delivery
  • Work with sales department, production and shipping on a daily basis
  • Plan all inside plant activities to meet production commitments.
  • Plan all outsource vendor activities to meet production commitments
  • Follow-up frequently with outside vendors to ensure commitments are being met
  • Maintain high level of communication between Carteret and the customer
  • Track each orders progress in ERP system
  • Support general office activities as needed

 

Essential skills:

  • Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a job shop environment where fabrication, machining, and assembly operations are performed.
  • Strong effective communications skills to actively engage suppliers and ensure they are performing to expectations and specifications
  • Negotiation skills to ensure supplier compliance
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Customer Service oriented, performance focused with a creative insight into problem-solving
  • Detail oriented, able to multi-task, manage time effectively and balance multiple priorities
  • Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; Helpful to have MRP/ERP experience

Tooling Engineer

 

Overview

The Tooling Engineer is charged with aiding in the design, modification and maintenance of production tooling.

Responsibilities

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Tool Room personnel and for aiding in the design and construction of new tooling, modifications to and maintenance of existing tooling as well as the updating of design files and maintaining inventory of spare parts.

Tasks

    • Manage the day to day operations of toolroom personnel.
    • Aid in troubleshooting and correction of tooling, production, process and quality issues.
    • Monitor and report on the design and construction of new tooling.
    • Work with Sales and Production to develop tooling format and process steps with respect to quoting of new projects to customers.
    • Maintain drawing and revision control throughout the plant.
    • Order supplies/die components as needed.
    • Assist with the enforcement of ISO Quality Management System policies and procedures, while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
    • Update and maintain departmental quality records.
    • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Experience

The Tooling Engineer should have experience in die casting and/or injection molding as well as tooling construction with a working knowledge of quality systems and value added operations.

Education

The Tooling Engineer should have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Industrial Engineering, Quality systems and ISO training or equivalent experience with familiarity with business and CAD software applications.

Tool Room Personnel

 

Overview

Tool room personnel are charged with maintaining all tooling in good working condition.

Responsibilities

Tool room personnel are responsible for all tooling, tooling components, machining supplies and the safe effective operation of the tool room itself.

Tasks

  1. Perform preventive maintenance on all tooling per Carteret Die Casting Die Cleaning Checklist.
  2. Maintain an adequate supply of components for maintenance and repair of tooling.
  3. Repair, replace, modify or improve tooling per instructions on Carteret Die Casting work orders.
  4. Keep tool room and equipment clean.
  5. Maintain tooling history records.
  6. Evaluate new tooling, tooling corrections as made by outside vendors per “New Die/Repaired Die Checklist”.

 

Experience

Individuals seeking this position should be dependable, able to follow instructions, read blueprints, have knowledge of operating all tool room and measurement equipment and be conscientious about their work and their work environment.

Education

Individuals seeking this position should have a high school diploma, its equivalent and have some machining training or experience and be able to read and write in English.
